Will Implementation Slow Us Down?

Surveyors at work on a jobsite

Many business leaders hesitate to invest in new software because they’re worried it’ll take too long to set up.

That’s fair—a lot of software is a pain in the neck to get going. And that’s why so many BuildWitt Training customers start out by asking, “Will implementation slow us down?”

The short answer is, nope!

Implementing BuildWitt Training won't slow you down. In fact once you're up and running, it can help speed your crews up.

Let’s talk about how much time implementation takes and how BuildWitt Training helps your crews work faster and better.

How long does implementation take?

Implementation takes as little as three hours.

Seriously? Yep! We can get someone fully up and running within one or two days. That’s 100% realistic—and it means you don’t have to slow down production to get started. In fact, it almost takes longer to say “BuildWitt Training implementation” than to actually do it.

Now does it usually happen in one day? No. Most customers take one or two weeks because they want to spend that extra time to maximize their success.

To help you see why they do that—and to help you decide how much time you’ll need—we’ll show you how implementation works. Then, we’ll talk about factors that can affect your timeline.

How it works

Here’s how you can implement BuildWitt Training once you become a customer:

Factors that affect your timeline

Generally, we find that our customers’ implementation timeline depends on the size of the company, level of buy-in from their team, and personal preference.

Company size

Typically, small companies with five to 15 users roll the software out quickly. They give the whole team access to BuildWitt Training right after their first Customer Success meeting.

That gives all the crew members a chance to weigh in with feedback and questions before the follow-up meeting—so the whole team’s involved every step of the way.

For larger companies, rollouts tend to take longer because there are more moving parts. They have to think about things like:

  • Which leaders will assign training to which people?
  • Who’s tracking what?
  • Should we give access to everyone right away, or roll BuildWitt Training out in phases? If it’s phases, who gets it first?

That’s why our customer success managers (CSMs) usually recommend that companies with 20+ user licenses do a soft rollout. These companies share BuildWitt Training with three to five people in a pilot group, get feedback, and then decide how they want to proceed with the rest of the company.

That’s one way to do it. The other way? Just go for it! Even if you’re a bigger company, you can embrace the small company credo of, “We’re going to assign this and figure it out together as we go.” And you can be highly successful that way.

It’s all up to you.

Team member buy-in

Getting people to buy into BuildWitt Training tends to go hand-in-hand with company size.

At smaller companies, the top leaders who bought the software know everybody. They know the foreman who’s unsure about using new software and the operator who doesn’t have a smartphone for training—and they can talk through it together.

At bigger companies, there are more leaders. Some of them may be super excited about BuildWitt Training, but others may not know why they should care about it yet. That can be a challenge. If the people at the top aren’t bought in, then no one’s going to be bought in.

That’s another reason bigger companies like to roll the software out in layers from top to bottom—starting with a pilot of three to five leaders. Once they get into BuildWitt Training and see what it’s about, they buy in and help the rest of the team do the same.

Preference

When it comes to the soft rollout and full deployment, you get to choose how much time you want to spend.

You could knock out your soft rollout in 30 minutes (like in the table above) . . . or you may decide you want to take a few hours to preview more content before you start assigning it to your crews.

That’s the great thing about implementing BuildWitt Training: you can take as much or as little time as you want. It’s super easy!

How BuildWitt Training helps your people speed up

Okay, so now you know that implementing BuildWitt Training won’t slow you down, because it takes so little time. But what happens after implementation?

Increasing productivity means you’re not only helping your crews work faster; you’re helping them work better. You’re becoming more productive by improving efficiency and eliminating costly problems.

To that end, BuildWitt Training can help you:

So not only will implementing BuildWitt Training not slow you down, it can help you speed up training and increase productivity. Talk about a win-win!
